Valentine’s day means jewelry!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Of course, we show lots of love to each other everyday of the year, but I think it’s great to have a day, albeit commercial, to do some extra special lovey things!

For the past few weeks, Bella has been asking her daddy for jewelry.  Don’t ask me how she got this idea in her head…(hehe), but she asks about everyday.  So for Valentine’s Day, Patrick came home w/ a special surprise for Bella.

A tiara, earrings, a heart ring, and a necklace…

It’s funny, somehow I thought I’d be the one helping Bella put on her first pair of earrings.  But we tend to do some things in an unconventional manner around here, so I suppose I’m not surprised.

And she’s got on her heart leggings to match!

I think Patrick was even more excited than Bella.  :)

All accessorized and ready to get back to work!

our birthday boy!

Last week, we celebrated Patrick’s 36th birthday.  He’s not one to ask for much, so all he requested was some Hard Knox Pizza, which was REALLLLLLY good, by the way, and an IPA.  Ummmm, IPA?  Is that a stock or something?

So with a few family members in tow, we commenced the celebration!  As always, Bella was ready to go!

Red velvet cake = crack.

Bella is helping Daddy open his presents.  She gave him a tie and a pocket square.  Even though I think it was so close to Christmas that she was probably wondering where her presents were.  :)

A gift card to his mecca…Buffalo Wild Wings.  He didn’t exactly look THIS excited to open up the tie.

100 points to anyone who can tell me what this is….

Yes, a battery tester.  My dad thinks no house is complete without a battery tester.  My mom was so embarrassed.

the great stare down of 2012

We’re only 2 weeks into the new year and we’ve already had a big show down in our house.  Bella’s new thing is the “stare down.”  She’ll stare down anyone…at home, in public, at the grocery store…even the eye doctor was privy to the experience the other day.

Last night at dinner, Bella threw down the gauntlet:  The Great Stare Down of 2012 was ON.

Round 1:

Round 2:

Round 3:

Round 4:

Wow…there really was no competition.  I think we all know who the clear winner was that night. :)

saturday morning love

Saturday mornings are my favorite time now.  Patrick works so much that it’s wonderful to have these lazy, loving mornings.

Pancakes have become a big part of our weekend ritual.  We usually trade off who gets (i mean, “has”) to be the chef, and I guess I drew the short straw this morning.

All my ingredients…

Dancing with Daddy while the food cooks…

Mattie always lurking around to see what will fall on the floor…

Et voila!

How is it honey??

As Bella says, “there’s a party in my tummy! so yummy! so yummy!”
