guilt-free treats!! (for the most part)

Over the holidays, I made some of my all-time favorite treats.  They are so simple to make and relatively healthy too…such a great alternative to traditional rice krispie treats w/ the sugar, butter, marshmallows, etc.   I got the recipe from “The Kind Diet” cookbook by Alicia Silverstone, which by the way, I definitely recommend.

All you need are these four ingredients.

Heat the brown rice syrup with the peanut butter.

Pour over your krispies.

Add chocolate chips…or carob chips, if you want to be uberly healthy.

Let them cool a bit, and then cut into squares.

These don’t last too long in our house, and I even love them without the chocolate chips, which makes them completely vegan.  But you can also get vegan chocolate chips too, so don’t fret if you still want that bit of chocolate in them.   They’re pretty much an all-around good snack for any time of day.
